Ra’s Al Ghul needs to plan for retirement

I’ve fought Ra’s Al Ghul for years. A centuries-old warlord, leader of the League of Assassins, and self-proclaimed savior of the planet. He’s cheated death more times than I can count. Lazarus Pits, ancient rituals—he’s found ways to extend his life far beyond what nature intended.

But here’s what he didn’t plan for: outliving his savings.

Eternal Life, Temporary Wealth

You’d think someone who’s lived for over 600 years would have mastered financial planning. But no. Turns out, even the Demon’s Head didn’t account for inflation, modern economics, or the slow decay of old-world wealth. Empires fall. Currencies collapse. Gold reserves get stolen. And now? He’s running out of money.

Which means he’s looking for new ways to fund his operations.

The Problem Lands in Gotham

Ra’s has always had a plan—usually one that involves destroying civilization to “reset” the world. But now, his desperation is showing. I’ve been tracking his latest moves:

• Failed Investments – Turns out, betting heavily on the East India Trading Company wasn’t a great long-term strategy.

• Selling Off Artifacts – Priceless relics disappearing from private collections, resurfacing on the black market.

• Corporate Takeovers – Attempts to buy controlling stakes in biotech firms and financial institutions—he’s trying to rebuild, but modern capitalism moves faster than an assassin’s blade.

• Cryptocurrency Scams – Yes. Ra’s Al Ghul tried to launch his own altcoin. The Lazarus Token. It collapsed within weeks.

Now, he’s resorting to raiding Gotham banks. A centuries-old master strategist, reduced to common robbery.

I Had to Say It

When I finally confronted him, he had the nerve to lecture me about the impermanence of wealth, the folly of man’s obsession with material things.

I shut him down.

“You’ve lived for six centuries and never heard of a retirement plan?”

For the first time, he had nothing to say.

The Lesson

Immortality comes with a price. And if you don’t plan for the future—even a long future—you’ll find yourself broke, desperate, and scamming investors with a Ponzi scheme.

Ra’s thought he could outlive the system. But there’s one thing even the Lazarus Pit can’t fix: bad financial planning.
